as the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer!
Dell Children's is a 335-bed comprehensive pediatric medical center
with 2 free-standing locations in Austin, Texas. Dell Children's
has 6 nationally ranked clinical programs by US News and World
Reports and delivers complex pediatric care in the most specialties
in Central Texas. As part of Ascension Seton, Dell Children's
offers pediatric care across a variety of care settings throughout
the region, including through various partnerships in adult Seton
and Providence healthcare settings. Dell Children's is a level-1
trauma center and the primary teaching hospital for Dell Medical
School at The University of Texas at Austin, which also includes
several complex care clinical programs and serves as training
locations for medicine, nursing, and many other allied health
professions.

Compensation varies based on factors including, but not limited to,
experience, skills, education, performance and salary range at the
time of the offer. Responsibilities Assistant Chief Nurse
Officer
will serve as direct support to the Chief Nursing Officer in
executive management of nursing services and clinical to support
associates, including driving adherence to standards of
professional practice and regulatory requirements. Oversee the
operational responsibility for a group of patient care areas and/or
special projects or initiatives.
Engage and assemble stakeholders to drive results focusing on
health care economics, quality/safety nurse sensitive indicators,
case management, continuum of care, regulatory management and
healthcare operations. Attract, recruit and retain talent,
cultivating engaged nurses, leaders and support staff focused on
high-quality care driving the consumer experience.
Collaborate with executive leadership to execute business
strategies that improve overall performance metrics and financial
performance.
Formulate policies and procedures consistent with recognized
standards of professional practice and compliance of regulatory
standards.
Foster a culture of appreciation, belongingness, inclusivity,
diversity and equity to drive the associate experience. Develop
professional communication and information for the hospital's top
nursing leader.
Creates a nursing culture that drives the highest quality, safest
care, while delivering on an exceptional patient, provider, and
associate experience. This culture is defined by one that is

focused.
Builds strong physician and staff relations by being visible,
engaged, and intentional about developing trust and establishing
credibility.
Focused on associate engagement and retention by executing

identify and develop new patient care programs, policies and
procedures.
Develops and implements programs to measure, assess and improve the
quality of nursing care provided by the organization.
At a market level, ensures compliance with applicable laws and
regulations related to nursing services and healthcare.
Assures continuity and consistency of nursing care standards and
practice.
Collaboratively develops and implements Ascension nursing policies,
objectives, and initiatives.
Provides feedback, coaching, development, and performance reporting
to nursing staff.
Embraces a matrix-reporting organization.
Implements, monitors, and adjusts nursing department operations to
ensure compliance with established standards. Complexity of
Work:Within the scope of the job, it requires critical thinking
skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal
supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful

Registration:
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing
obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Education:
Master's degree required. Work Experience:
5 years of experience required.
7 years of experience preferred.
2 years of leadership or management experience required.
3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
