Employment Type: Full-Time - Project-Based - Commercial Construction

We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Safety Assistant (PSA) to support safety operations on an upcoming commercial construction project. This role requires a dedicated safety professional with extensive experience in commercial building environments, nationally recognized certifications, and up-to-date, hands-on safety training.

Minimum Qualifications - No Exceptions:

Experience:

A minimum of five (5) consecutive years of full-time, verifiable experience in building construction safety.


Candidates who have completed a four-year degree in a construction safety discipline must also have at least one (1) year of hands-on field experience in commercial construction safety to qualify.




National Safety Certification:

Candidates must have successfully obtained at least one of the following and this may add up to an additional two years of experience:

Certified Safety Professional (CSP)


Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)


Other nationally recognized construction safety certifications will be considered with appropriate documentation.






OSHA Credentials (One Required):

OSHA 510 - OSHA Standards for the Construction Industry


OSHA 500 - Trainer Course in OSHA Standards for Construction


OSHA 502 - Update for Construction Industry Outreach Trainers





Required Safety Training & Knowledge Areas:

The PSA must possess practical knowledge, documented experience, and continuing education (minimum 4 hours per topic) in the following, completed within the last 5 years of the Notice to Proceed date:

Fall Protection


Scaffolds


Excavation & Trenching


Confined Space Entry


Crane Operations


Electrical Safety


Incident Investigation Techniques


Industrial Hygiene for Construction


Fire Protection & Prevention


Lockout/Tagout Procedures


Basic Crane Rigging


Respiratory Protection



Training that does not meet the 4-hour minimum per topic will not be accepted.

Additional Requirements:

First Aid / CPR / AED Certification

Must be current within the last two (2) years at the time of application.





Ideal Candidate Will Also Demonstrate:

Familiarity with safety challenges in multi-story, steel-frame, concrete, and interior finish phases of commercial construction.


Ability to assist with daily safety inspections, site orientation, toolbox talks, and reporting.


Strong communication and team coordination skills.


Commitment to maintaining a proactive, safety-first culture on-site.
