role supports day-to-day needs of team members and practice group
lawyers in the execution of strategic go-to-market initiatives that
generate new client relationships, enhance brand profile and drive
revenue opportunities. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated,

the desire to further develop a career in business development. We
are looking for a candidate who has experience in quickly building
rapport with key stakeholders, developing subject-matter knowledge,
and working closely with peers and senior marketing staff to
provide strategic and tactical support of business development

largest law firms.This position reports into the Senior BD Manager,
Business Group. This position will supervise a direct report and
will be based in the New York office.Responsibilities include, but
are not limited to:
- Work with the practice team leadership to manage the planning
and production of materials to raise and maintain awareness of our
corporate, M&A, private equity and securities capabilities and
sector strengths in line with strategic growth objectives, such as
bids/RFPs, client development presentations, external publications,
ensuring adherence to brand and style guidelines
- Identify and propose pursuit opportunities based on plan
priorities, market awareness and commercial potential; implement
initiatives for generating new client relationships, enhancing
brand profile and driving revenue opportunities; lead follow-up
efforts
- Analyze and develop engagement opportunities with targets based
on plans; working with others to finalize and deliver
- Coordinate with partners on the development and publicizing of
outcomes and thought leadership (client alerts and articles), in
cooperation with the PR team where necessary
- Manage the production process for developing external
communications in a timely manner
- Mentor and coach team members on best practices based on core
competencies
- Ensure that all marketing communications channels are utilized
to raise profile of the team's capabilities and industry strengths,
including social media; identify and recommend opportunities
- Track and analyze client engagement activities in the Firm's
experience management and CRM systems, including producing periodic
budget and ROI analyses on same; identify and recommend
opportunities based on report data
- Work with the in-house events team to plan, implement and
report on industry conference sponsorships, client presentations
and seminars, section/department retreats, client dinners, and
other events related to the promotion of the team's presence in the
markets served.
- Draft and coordinate submissions in legal directories (such as
Chambers and Legal 500) and practice/industry surveys; work with
lead lawyers to finalize and prep for interviews
- Manage the production of internal presentations for relevant
training/development programs; identify and recommend topics for
future programs
- Develop internal communications for promoting monthly
engagement activities; prepare talking points for highlighting
same; oversee contact information for marketing mailings and
lists
- Update intranet content in the US and, where relevant, at a
global level to raise awareness of initiatives and
opportunities
- Monitor and approve check requests, invoices, and other
arrangements required for support of marketing activities as
needed
- Coordinate resources and materials for internal team meetings
as needed
- Assist team members in the lateral integration/onboarding

without notice.Qualifications and job-related skills
- 8+ years of experience, preferably in professional services;
law firm experience a plus
- Bachelor's degree required
- Demonstrated experience with business development strategy in a
global professional services organization; possesses solid business
acumen and experience in analyzing business and legal trends, as
well as the ability to synthesize complex information
- Demonstrated experience with corporate M&A and securities
and private equity law subject matter; experience with financial
institutions and energy sectors a plus
- Proactive, innovative business development professional with
excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills; ability
to create engagement and manage expectations
- Empathetic leader and team member, with an ability to build
trust with internal clients by setting responsiveness standards,
understanding business priorities and navigating points of
sensitivity
- High degree of intellectual curiosity; ability to learn and
integrate the use of firm resources and technologies into all
activity according to best practices
- Strong professional presence comfortable interacting and
collaborating with lawyers, other professionals and staff within

internal firm projects
- Clear and concise written/oral communication skills
- Strong proficiency in using Microsoft Suite; experience with
CRM and experience management systems a plus

base annual salary for this position in the Chicago or New York
City market is expected to range between $140,000 and $180,000.
